Join The Senior Volunteer Program
WestArk RSVP, a program of The Guidance Center, is a volunteer clearinghouse that recruits and connects active adults who are 55 years of age or older with a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout their communities. WestArk RSVP takes great pride in providing assistance to low-income people, giving companionship and support to the elderly, and addressing important community needs throughout western Arkansas.
Direct services to the community are provided through the RSVP Community Outreach program, enabling RSVP volunteers to make a difference in the lives of veterans, Medicare beneficiaries and struggling working families.
While there are many generous and willing volunteers eager to become involved in community service, often times there’s a disconnect between those who need help and those willing to provide it. WestArk RSVP bridges that gap. Their mission is to promote volunteerism throughout an eight county area in western Arkansas, which consists of Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, Marion, Sebastian, and Washington counties.
Our volunteers choose how and where they want to serve. Some continue the type of work that they’ve always enjoyed. Others choose a completely new path. Our volunteers help out in schools, senior centers, hospitals, and food banks. They also:
- Deliver meals to the Homebound
- Prepare Income Tax Returns
- Assist Medicare Beneficiaries
